Some users are reporting connection issues, or Firefox hanging. Safe mode doesn't work, but a new profile does. These users all have the following lines in their prefs.js, removing the lines solves the problem.

Checking add/remove programs there are some Yahoo programs listed, I'd suspect Yahoo Browser services or Yahoo toolbar -

Windows Disable Norton Internet Security on Startup
1) Start Menu -> Run
2) Type msconfig Press Enter
3) Go to the Startup Tab
4) Uncheck entry for ccapp
5) Go to Services Tab
6) Uncheck all with entries with Symantec in name
7) Click Apply then Ok
8) When prompted Restart the Computer -
